***New water meters have been installed with blue lids. This is something exciting, as this new technology comes to Dover. Note: Please do not paint the lid, and do not put anything on top of the lid.
***"Eye on water" an app you can put on your phone, the app will send you an alert if you have a leak, you can look at your water usage daily, All you need to do is down load the app "Eye on water" ( it has a blue water drop on it) you will need your account number, note do not use dashes and you will need your email address, call City Hall if you have any questions. 232-5907.
The Town of Dover is responsible for providing the citizens with clean and safe drinking water. The Town takes pride in this responsibility and strives to provide our citizens with the best possible service and be in compliance with all state and federal regulations. The Dover Water Plant is a Grade III water treatment plant and requires an operator to have a Grade III State Certification.
The Dover Water Plant is a surface water plant. The source water is pumped from the Cumberland River to the water treatment basins. It can produce 864,000 gallons of water per day, but currently averages 385,000 gallons per day. The Dover Water System has five storage tanks: a 500,000-gallon tank, a 200,000-gallon tank, and two 100,000-gallon tanks, as well as an 80,000-gallon tank.
The Dover Plant is a Certified Laboratory for Microbiology.
